Brighton & Hove Albion winger Ibrahim Osman will experience English league football for the first time after completing a loan move to Championship side Birmingham City for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
The 21-year-old Ghanaian arrives after a six-month spell in France with Auxerre, where he featured in 14 Ligue 1 games and registered two assists.
Osman previously enjoyed a productive season in the Netherlands with Feyenoord, scoring three goals and providing three assists in 22 Eredivisie matches, alongside seven appearances in the Champions League.
Despite being on the books of Brighton for nearly two years, Osman has never played professionally in England.
“This is a good opportunity for Ibrahim to continue his development back here in England after a six-month spell in the French league,” Brighton sporting director Jason Ayto said.
“It means Ibrahim will continue playing regular football, and Birmingham City will provide another good environment. We will be monitoring his progress and wish him well for the second half of the season.”
Osman joined Brighton in 2024 after impressing at FC Nordsjælland and featured in pre-season friendlies under Fabian Hurzeler, including matches in Tokyo.
The move to Birmingham offers him the chance to adapt to English football while adding depth and competition on the flanks for the Blues as they aim to strengthen their Championship campaign.
Primarily a right-footed winger capable of playing on either side, Osman will compete with Demarai Gray and Patrick Roberts for regular first-team action in the second half of the season.
