The Chairman of Asante Kotoko’s Interim Management Committee (IMC), Nana Apinkrah Akwasi Awuah, has urged the team to focus on securing victory in Sunday’s highly anticipated Super Clash against Hearts of Oak.
The Porcupine Warriors will face their fiercest rivals without a permanent head coach, following the departure of Karim Zito on Monday.
Zito resigned after Kotoko’s elimination from the FA Cup Round of 16, where they fell 4-2 in a penalty shootout to Aduana FC on Sunday.
Speaking to players at the club’s training grounds on Tuesday, Nana Apinkrah stressed that no excuses will be tolerated ahead of the clash at Baba Yara Stadium.
“We can’t afford further excuses. It’s redemption time, and let’s leave the past behind and focus on what is ahead," he said.
"We must redeem ourselves on Sunday," Nana Apinkrah added.
The showdown is set to kick off at 17:00 GMT.
