Ten-man Vision FC produced a resilient performance to hold Asante Kotoko to a goalless draw at the Baba Yara Stadium on Sunday, earning a valuable point in their battle to avoid relegation.
Vision were reduced to 10 men in the 69th minute when Mohammed Awudu received his second yellow card for stopping a counterattack. The visitors responded by sitting deep and defending in numbers to protect the result.
Goalkeeper Godwin Ametefe was central to Vision’s resistance, producing several important saves in the first half to deny Kotoko, who controlled much of the game but failed to find a breakthrough.
Kotoko enjoyed 60 percent possession and created the better chances, registering nine shots on target and eight off target, while Vision managed seven efforts on target and three off target despite their numerical disadvantage.
The home side will be disappointed not to convert their dominance, dropping points again in their pursuit of the top spot. Kotoko remain fourth, with a seven-point gap separating them from the league leaders.
For Vision FC, the draw lifts them further away from the relegation zone and could prove crucial as they continue their fight for survival.
