Frank Lampard says he has a strong belief in Brandon Thomas-Asante after the Ghana forward ended his recent goal drought in Coventry City’s win over Preston North End.
Thomas-Asante scored in Coventry’s 3-0 victory in the EFL Championship, helping the team maintain their position at the top of the table with a six-point advantage over Middlesbrough.
The Black Stars attacker had enjoyed a strong start to the 2025-26 season but saw his momentum disrupted after suffering an injury and serving a three-match suspension.
Speaking to the club’s media after the match, Lampard said he has confidence in the striker and believes the goal will help restore his rhythm.
“That’s what he gave us right early in the season. He obviously had his injury and then came back and had the suspension, so it’s been a bit broken for him since then, but I’ve got a lot of faith and love for Brandon working with him every day,” Lampard said.
Lampard added that the striker’s physical strength, pace and pressing ability make him an important part of Coventry’s attacking setup.
Thomas-Asante has scored 11 goals and provided four assists in 25 Championship appearances this season.
