Speaking at the one year memorial service held at the party head office in Accra, John Boadu noted that Jake Otanka Obetsebi-Lamptey forms an intrinsic part of the history of the New Patriotic Party.
‘There is no way you can recount the history of the New patriotic party without mentioning Jake Obetsebi-Lamptey. When he became National chairman, He put together a team of business people to the buildup the National Headquarters. So we are not mourning but rejoicing over his achievement for the party’ he said.
John Boadu also revealed that the party is dialoging with Jake’s family to see how to immortalize his name.
Acting National Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay likewise shared similar opinion adding that Jake is a hero to the NPP fraternity.
Earlier a memorial service was held at the Ridge Church in Accra to honor the departed former leader of the NPP, Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey.
The once vibrant and active National Chairman for the NPP passed away on March 20 2016 in London after battling an ailment.
Jake Otanka Obetsebi Lamptey till his demise was the National Campaign Manager of the ruling National Patriotic party during the 2000 Presidential elections and he played a huge role in securing the party’s victory in the elections at the time.
