Young paddler, Jeffrey Owusu Afriyie, became the star of the day after beating veterans William Asare and Isaac Amoako of the GRA 3-1, 3-1 respectively in men’s singles match.
League leaders, Tesano Spinners continued their hold on the top by defeating Police 3-2 and followed up with a 3-0 win against Ashaiman Power Club in the second encounter to gain 57 points, two more than defending champions, Immigration, who continued their chase with a 3-0 defeat over Ashaiman Power Club and another 3-0 win over Team Coach Addo.
In other matches in the mens’ division, Synergy beat Team Coach Addo 3-2, GRA defeated Army 3-1, Western Table Tennis Club lost 2-3 against Team Baboo, Kings Royal Academy beat Ashanti Otumfuo Stars 3-0 and Navy defeated Eastern Loopers 3-2.
In other encounters in the male division, Synergy lost 0-3 to Madina Stars, Police beat Army 3-2, Kings Royal Academy beat Loopers 3-0 and Fire finished Navy off 3-0.
The women’s division saw Police beat Western Table Tennis Club 3-0 and GRA defeated Army 3-1, Madina Stars lost 0-3 to Army.
