Chairman of the committee and Vice President of the Institute, Daniel Kasser Tee in his address at the launch of the awards in Accra said the CIMG awards have become a standard for individuals and corporate organisations to assess their performances which encourage the Institute to keep the stakes as high and relevant as possible.
He said, “we are also committed to doing our best, in keeping the awards process simply transparent and fair to our key stakeholders. It is this level of commitment that has guided us, as a responsive institution, to constantly introduce new and progressive ideas, all aimed at adding new things to our processes as well as new award categories”.
Some new award categories have been added to this year’s event including the Telecommunications Company of the Year (Allied and Support Services) which Mr Kasser Tee says will cater for a large number of support services companies that are relevant to the success of that sector.
He said, “we shall continue to make such inputs and reviews in order to always bring life and excitement to the CIMG awards since this is the surest way to keeping our awards relevant at all times”.
Also, the non-bank financial institution award now has three categories which include Finance company of the year, Savings and loans company of the year and Micro-finance company of the year.
Mr Kasser Tee mentioned that "we shall expect our winners, especially for the personality award winners ..., to conceive and introduce one project idea which they can carry out during their year of being Marketing man or Marketing woman".
He added that the Institute is ready to support other award organisers in order to make award standards in Ghana "quality depended".
The Awards will be under 6 main categories which are the CIMG Hall of Fame, Personalities, Media, Business, Product and Not-for-Profit Organisations. There is also the President’s Special award.
