Akapko who was assistant to Polack will now be taking charge of the Kumasi giants as a stop gap coach.
Akakpo’s new role came after Kotoko confirmed the sacking of the Englishman last Friday following the club’s failure to qualify to the next stage of the CAF Confederation Cup.
Akakpo moved to Kotoko last year December as assistant coach. He joined the Porcupine Warriors from WAFA by signing a two year deal.
