Mr Anyidoho is being held for treason following his arrest by personnel of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service on Tuesday for making what they say are treasonable comments.
He was subsequently refused bail pending his appearance before the court only for the former President and some leaders of the NDC to visit him at the location where he is being held in detention.
But Mr Bempah has accused the BNI of being biased for particularly allowing former President John Dramani Mahama to visit the Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, Koku Anyidoho at the BNI.
According to reports, the former president left the premises after spending a few minutes with authorities at the police headquarters.
However, the intervention of the former President could not change his fate.
He is expected to appear before court on Thursday.
Ernest Owusu Bempah wondered why the former President was allowed to visit Koku Anyidoho when they prevented his party members from visiting him when he was picked up by some BNI officials some years ago.
“I’ve always known that the BNI is biased. Why should they allow Mahama to visit Koku when they know what Koku said was indeed treason. It means he supports Koku. Even me when I was detained at the BNI no one came to visit me. They never allowed people to visit me not even Kennedy Agyapong.
“I am so disappointed in them. They should allow him to face the laws to serve as a deterrent to his colleagues in the party”, Ernest added on Accra-based radio station, Okay FM, monitored by Adomonline.com.
