The regalia have been preserved at the Manhyia Palace since that year.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II explained at the historic gathering in Kyebi that he wore the decades-old regalia in honouring the Okyehene's invitation due to its historic significance as a unity symbol.
"I have joined you here today with so much love from Asanteman", Otumfuo told the gathering, adding that: "Nana Ofori-Atta I, played an important role in uniting Asanteman in 1935".
"Due to the recognition of the efforts he made in uniting Asanteman, I decided to wear the same regalia my uncle wore in uniting Asanteman, to this occasion in Okyeman.
"The cloth I am wearing today and all the accompanying adornment have been there since 1935. I wore them here today to signify the unity among Asanteman and Okyeman", Otumfuo explained.
