The Northern Ladies striker in an interview on Atinka TV's Sports Court expressed gratitude to her brother (a footballer) who motivated her and convinced their mother to allow her to play football.
Mukarama has, however, overcame the odds and was the star of Ghana’s team at the U-17 Women’s World Cup in Uruguay which Ghana painfully exited in the quarter-finals after losing on penalties to Mexico.
Abdulai emerged as the top-scorer having netted an astonishing seven goals in four matches at the World Cup and also won the third best player (Bronze) in the tournament.
Her journey, though, was not this smooth when she started playing football in the Northern region of Ghana.
"I was scared to tell my mother about the Black Maidens call-up but my brother, together with my coach had to talk to my mother that I have to go and try, whatever be the case.
"She should be patient and let me go and try and see what will happen so she has to agree"
