Chairman Samba made this known when he interacted with the media after holding a Regional Executive Committee (REC) in Tamale.
The eccentric and philanthropic chairman was in awe of how diligently President Akufo-Addo and his economic management team has steered the economy back on track after the incompetent NDC regime had crushed it.
To chairman Samba, President Akufo-Addo deserves a Nobel Prize for good economic governance since “it takes a genius and a selfless leader to implement financially demanding policies like Free SHS and the Nation Builders Corps (NABCO) after inheriting close to nothing in the public kitty”.
The regional chairman observed that the NPP government led by President Akufo-Addo and Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia has outperformed their predecessors even though they are bare two years in power.
Chairman Samba queried, “Just tell me any sector that the NDC did better than the current government. Statistics don’t lie and same statistics tell us that President Nana Akufo-Addo has fared marvelously better in two years than the entire 8 years of the NDC put together.
In education, health, agriculture, good governance, security, rule of law, prudent fiscal management, trade and industry, manufacturing etc; you name it and consult the data. You will realise that the current dispensation has beaten their immediate predecessor to pulp”.
Chairman Samba jovially added that the NDC only beat the NPP in terms of three indicators namely “incompetence, corruption and lies”.
To Chairman Samba, the NPP does not aspire to ever beat the NDC on those three indicators.
The northern regional chairman who has an agenda to win 22 out of the available 31 in the region in 2020 is working hard to realise his vision.
The REC meeting was therefore called by him to strategise and put together a blueprint for the New Year which he termed “the deciding year”.
