The two - Jonny Botsio and Elorm Akaba - got injured during the matches against Exchequers of the Bank of Ghana (BoG) and Police Men respectively and are currently receiving medical care to speed up their recovery.

The Black Sticks engaged five local teams in friendlies to prepare the team towards the African Nations Hockey Tournament slated for Stellenbosch in South Africa in August .
The head coach of the male national hockey team, Mr Ebenezer Frimpong, who briefed the Graphic Sports Online about the condition of the players, expressed concern about the injury since the casualties were considered to be key to the team’s African Nations Hockey campaign.
He said the medical team was working around the clock to ensure the speedy recovery of the two players.
“We are paying special attention to them to ensure they recover early to join the team in our preparation for the tournament in South Africa, “ he assured.
According to Mr Frimpong, another key player, Salya Nsalbani, who embarked on a peacekeeping operation in South Sudan, as well as Michael Baiden, a South Africa-based Ghanaian player, would also join the team.
He said while Salya would fly down to join the team in Ghana prior to their departure to South Africa, Baiden would join them in South Africa .
The African Nations Hockey Tournament, slated between August 12 and 18, will see Ghana facing host South Africa, who are the defending champions. Other participating countries are Egypt, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda and Nigeria.
