He said government cannot afford to take the attempt to destabilize the country lightly and served critics the reminder that it took a bullet to kill American President JF Kennedy on November 22, 1963.
“It is unfortunate that a section of the Ghanaian public will attempt to ridicule this information. History reminds us that the assassination of the former president of the United State of America John Fitzgerald Kennedy took a bullet, just one person with a gun.”
The call comes after sections of the public mocked at an announcement by the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah on Monday that security operatives had foiled a coup plot, and arrested the masterminds.
At a press briefing in Accra on Thursday, Mr Hadzide, called on the public to stop ridiculing the information.
“We want to discourage strongly attempts by a section especially on social media and traditional media by acclaimed, self-acclaimed security and intelligent expect to ridicule what information was put out”.
