Micah, who holds the World Boxing Council’s (WBC) International bantamweight crown, will be making his second Premier Boxing Champions (PBC) appearance and he believes good preparation will be key to another success, irrespective of who the opponent is.
The 28-year-old hard-hitting fighter believes a convincing win over his next opponent can get him closer to a dream world title shot next year where he will be looking to make a significant impact.
Micah told the Graphic Sports from his New York base that he was in the best of shape to dispatch his next opponent, having had the best of training camp under trainer Andre Rozier.
He described working with Andre Rozier as a blessing and says he expects the experienced American trainer to lead him to a world title by close of next year.
“I am not taking things for granted. I’m preparing very well and will be looking out for a knockout win when I fight next month. It is going to be a great night of boxing for me.
“I have my eyes set on a world title fight next year and I believe a convincing win over my opponent could secure me the chance to fight at the biggest stage,” Micah said.
Micah saw his position on the ratings of most of the four sanctioning bodies such as WBC, WBA, WBO and IBF dropping due to over a year of inactivity.
He returned to the ring with an impressive knockout victory over Luis Roy Suarez Cruz when he stopped the Mexican in two rounds last August. Read Full Story
