The new Ipro 5s and Amber 5s which are 3G and 4G respectively are designed to provide exciting experience for MTN customers.
Speaking at the launch on Wednesday, the Chief Marketing Officer of MTN said that his outfit has set sights on increasing the use of smartphones in Ghana by close of the year.
He expressed MTN’s plans of ensuring that every Ghanaian enjoys the services of an affordable and fast-paced internet phone.
“Our vision is to lead the delivery of bold new digital world in many ways made apparent through partnerships that lead to the introduction of devices such as the IPRO Amber 5S and 5S Pro. This launch marks another step towards the advancement of this vision, one that will the customer’s life a whole better”, he said.
He announced that since the launch of the MTN KaIOS smartphone in April, MTN has made tremendous gains with over 15,000 phones sold so far.
“Seven months after the launch we are happy to say that the uptake has been very good and we have sold close to 150,000 pieces and still counting’, he said.
The CEO of McFrim, Michael Frimpong explained that new phones have been tailored to the needs of customers. He urged Ghanaians to patronize the product and enjoy fast speed browsing experience.
The phones operate on the Android Go operating system and are 4G and 3G entry-level. With just GHC275 and GHC255, one can purchase the 4G or 3G respectively.
