According to the Secretary of the Board of Trustees, Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, the facility, when completed, will be most popular destination for tourists in Africa.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Tuesday, he said the benefit of the cathedral would outweigh its cost.
The man of God noted that aside being a temple of God, it will also generate revenue for the State.
Rev. Boateng said the national cathedral would be surrounded by more than five hectares of landscaped gardens and will have a Bible museum and a Holy land experience.
“We will create a holy land experience so that those who cannot travel to Israel will have a similar experience at a fee,” he added.
The Board of Trustees Secretary noted that, just like the Notre-Dame Cathedral which contributes hugely to the economy in France, National Cathedral will also contribute hugely to Ghana’s economy.
“National Cathedral is the first of its kind in Africa; tourists will come in from all over the world so it will generate more revenue than investing in stadia,” he said.
To Rev. Boateng building of the cathedral should be a national project that would have an impact in Ghana.
