Polley was speaking on Ghana’s number one Sports Station Happy 98.9FM, on issues that affected the Black Stars from winning the 1992 AFCON in Senegal.
According to him, deep-rooted factions in the camp were one of the major reasons that led to the team’s inability to win the trophy.
He also revealed that the captaincy row in the camp also affected the Black Stars and it is one area CK Akonnor must check in order to ensure the current team does not suffer the same fate.
“Leadership has always been a problem for the Black Stars and just recently we could see that faction between Dede Ayew and Asamoah Gyan.
“I will advise CK Akonnor to learn from all that has happened in the past. He has been there before and he should take a clue from it. ”, he told Ohene-Bampoe Brenya on Happy Sports on Happy 98.9FM.
