A former Minister of Defense, Dr. Kwame Addo Kufuor, has urged Ghanaians to be peaceful as they go to the polls to elect parliamentarians and a president for the country on December 7.
He has admonished Ghanaians to emulate the political attitude of Great Britain and United States of America (USA), and banish electoral violence from the Ghanaian political landscape, saying “Whatever the outcome, let peace prevail because of Ghana.”
He called on religious leaders to pray for Ghana, to enable Ghanaians enjoy peace and prosperity.
He said: “In a few days time, the Americans will be electing their president, and I tell you, in spite of the heated debate, everything will be peaceful.”

Cracking jokes, Dr. Addo-Kufuor told the congregation that everybody knows where their vote will go, but nevertheless, he will support whoever emerges as the leader.

Rev Fr Opoku Acheampong prayed that these instances will not happen here in Ghana, adding that we have the freedom to drive our cars around, do business, and visit family and friends in peace.
