From Richard Owusu-Akyaw, Kumasi…
The Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) has gone haywire and destroyed a urinal which is under construction at the airport roundabout after granting a preliminary permit to the developer.
The owner of the project, Gilbert Ntiamoah Polos in a statement explained that he acquired a piece of land located at Airport Roundabout in the Manhyia sub metro for a construction of a public urinal. He has threatened to sue the KMA for their action.
According to him, the KMA gave him approval to continue the project only to get a phone call about the demolition of the project by the same KMA.
He accused Mr. Mawuli Coffie and one Anthony, the Manhyia sub-metro metropolitan chairman and engineer respectively for leading the demolition taskforce to dismantle his project.
He fumed that without any notice; the engineer has taken into their own hands and caused damage to a property he was permitted to undertake within a twinkle of an eye.
Worried Gilbert Ntiamoah Polos chastised KMA for acting illegally to cause damage to his property and project.
According to him, he had spent about GHc30,000 as fee which was paid to one MawuliCoffie , an engineer at the Manhyia sub-metro yet they have pulled down the structures he has paid for with documentary evidence.
Mr. Gilbert Ntiamoah, who doubles as Chairman for macho men for defense and justice called on Authorities to crack the whip against organisations and people who acts irresponsibly.
In a phone interaction with Mr. Mawuli and his counterpart, they declined to comment on the matter, saying the KMA public relations officer, Mr.OkumahNyame is the authorised person to talk to the media. About five calls and text messages to Mr. Nyame did not yield any result.
