The Bono Regional New Patriotic Party (NPP) has forwarded basic items and logistics needed to curb the spread of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) which were presented by the National Secretariat to the various regions for onwards distribution to the constituencies as part of the party’s measures to halt the pandemic.
The PPE were veronica buckets, hand washing bowls, tissue papers, liquid soaps, hand sanitisers, tables and chairs among others.
Presenting the items at the Bono Regional Secretariat of the party, the Bono Regional Chairman, Kwame Baffoe Abronye DC, said the donation forms part of the party’s quest to offering support to the national response to stop the spread of the Coronavirus in the country.
He said the presentation, which forms part of the party’s corporate social responsibility (CSR), was to bolster the government’s efforts to combat the spread of the deadly disease in the region.
Chairman Abronye DC disclosed that some of the banks in the country were flouting the banking directives issued by the President, thus the granting by the banks of a six month moratorium of principal repayments to entities in the airline and hospitality industries, i.e. hotels, restaurants, car rentals, food vendors, taxis, and uber operators.” He commended those adhering to the directives and urged others to do same.
Receiving the items on behalf of the constituency chairmen, the Constituency Chairman for Dormaa East, Lawyer Solomon Oppong, expressed gratitude to both the national and regional executives of the party for the kind gesture, saying the donation would go a long way to help their constituents protect themselves against the Covid-19.
He urged the constituency executives to continue to educate their constituents to strictly adhere to the stay-home directive, observe social/physical distance, and follow all hygienic protocols.
