The Founder of the largest opposition political party, National Democratic Congress (NDC), Flight Lieutenant Jerry John Rawlings, has hinted he would strip his ‘boy’, Kwamena Ahwoi, and others naked in his yet-to-be released book.

Titled ‘The Triumph of Evil’, Mr Rawlings said his book promises to reveal secrets of NDC bigwigs, some of whom are now trying hard to damage him.

In post on his twitter page sighted by The Chronicle, Mr Rawlings, who called Prof Kwamena Ahwoi into politics, lamented that the latter’s controversial book on him was only to pre-empt his exposure.

According to him, there was nothing ill-timed about Prof Ahwoi’s ‘Working with Rawlings’ book, which has taken the center of media discussions for some days now.

“There is nothing ill-timed about Kwamena Ahwoi serving ‘dankwasere’ soup at this time. He needed to knock down Rawlings to pre-empt the exposure of Rawlings’ book, ‘The Triumph of Evil’,  promises to reveal about some of them,” he tweeted.

Typical of spewing verbal expletives after his hay days, Mr Rawlings revealed that the likes of Prof Ahwoi were anxiously waiting for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) to win the December polls.

He added that to take opportunity of the anticipated loss, those people are hoping to damage him with propaganda.

“People like him do not expect the NPP to let go of 2020, so they are hoping to utilise the opportunity of a loss to damage Rawlings with some vicious, manufactured stuff. Their cunning calculation is that Mahama and his running mate will step aside after 2020, while they consolidate their control over the party and provide their own flag-bearer and running mate for 2024,” he posted.

The Twitter post by the ‘Boom Man’ broke his long-restrained silence since the book, which has been described a powerful explosive to destroy the image of Rawlings, was launched.

The book has met mixed reactions from the public, with most raising concern over the timing of the release of the over 200-page book, whose foreword was by the NDC running mate, Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman.

Even before yesterday’s post, former President Jerry John Rawlings had served notice in a statement issued by his office early this month that he will soon deal with a “callous agenda of bile by the likes of Kwamena Ahwoi.”

Mr Rawlings said in the statement: “The NDC could, should, and has survived on the authority of the word, but if care is not taken, it will collapse and drown, as has been happening on the word of those in authority.”

Mr Rawlings further stated: “Much as I find it tiring and tedious to be engaging in self-defense when I have given my all, all these years, I will soon deal with the callous agenda of bile by the likes of Kwamena Ahwoi, who are desperately seeking control of the NDC party.”
