Naana Jane: NPP is a lazy gov’t

Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, running mate to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, has described the Nana Addo-led New Patriotic Party (NPP) government as lazy.

She made the statement at Sefwi Asempaneye, a small farming community near Sefwi Awaso in the Bibiani-Awaso-Bekwai Constituency of the Western North Region.

Addressing supporters of the party at the Cane Basket Hotel, Professor Nana Jane Opoku Agyemang opined that the NDC, during its time, executed many development projects to the benefit of Ghanaians, and questioned: “What do we see, abuse of human rights, and abuse of the rights of the Ghanaian citizens among others.”

Though the running mate did not directly mention the government as the recipient of her criticism, everything pointed to the fact that she was accusing the Nana Addo-led administration.

She appealed to the Ghanaian voters to vote massively for former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC parliamentary candidates to rescue Ghanaians from the hands of the current government.

She urged the supporters to be vigilant and not allow any persons with bad motives to deceive them by taking their voter ID cards.

The former Education Minister noted that no one can intimidate the NDC in the upcoming December general election.

“Don’t allow anybody to intimidate you, be vigilant and we are going to win the December elections for you to come out from this hardship.

“We want peace; we don’t want any violence; we don’t want we will show something small, but nobody should try to intimidate us; we are not lazy; we are not afraid of hard work; we will involve everybody in the NDC government; we don’t discriminate,” she told the excited crowed. “We need everybody on-board to continue the good works of former President Mahama,” she further noted.

The four-day tour will take Professor Naana Jane Opoku Agyeman and her team to Sefwi Bekwai, Wiawso, Bodi, Akontombra, Suaman, Aowin, Bia East and West, and Sefwi Juaboso.

Those who accompanied the running mate included Mr Okudzeto Ablakwa, Mr Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, Madam Emelia Arthur, formerly Deputy Western Regional Minister, and Mr Kwesi Ahwoi.
