Angry supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) at Dunkwa-On-Offin in the Upper Denkyira East Constituency of the Central Region are accusing the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) of organising people to deface campaign posters and billboards of the NPP’s parliamentary candidate, Festus Awuah.
The aggrieved NPP supporters were awakened to the deed in the early hours of Sunday, October 18. The posters and banners of the NPP candidate placed at vantage points in the constituency were found to be defaced by unknown persons.
This situation has raised tension between supporters of both parties.
According to Festus Awuah, the Upper Denkyira East Constituency seat belongs to the NPP and will remain so even, after the 2020 elections.
He called for calm and appealed to the police to bring the perpetrators to book.
Meanwhile, Mr. Ekow Nyarkoh, NDC Communication Officer for the constituency, has denied the allegation and called for peace.
