The former Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu Constituency, Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, has embarked on clandestine moves to beat other aspirants in the Ashanti New Patriotic Party (NPP) chairmanship race at the impending Regional Congress of the party next year.
The former Deputy Minister of Roads and Highways is subtly enticing constituency chairmen in the region with goodies and cash for their support when the race begins.
The Chronicle has gathered that over the past few days, the former Ejisu lawmaker has been moving from one constituency chairman to the other with packages.
Following a probe by the paper, some of the constituency chairmen contacted confirmed that each of them received expensive drinks, including Hennessy, Black Label, wine and GH¢600.00 cash, and, in some cases, additional bottles of Schnapps.
In spite of the hard evidence, the former Deputy Roads and Highways Minister told The Chronicle in a telephone interview that he is not aware of the said distribution of the drinks. “I am not aware of that,” he tersely responded.
Dr. Boris Baidoo, popularly known as Boris B, Chief Executive Officer CEO of Boris B Farms and Veterinary Services; Odeneho Kwaku Appiah, Afigya Kwabre South constituency chairman and chairman of the Ashanti NPP Chairmen Association and Eric Nana Agyemang Prempeh, the Director General of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) are all eying the seat currently occupied by the incumbent Bernard Antwi Boasiako, alias Chairman Wontumi, who is seeking re-election against all odds
