The Ghana Football Association (GFA) have declared Legon Cities as the winners of their matchday 23 league game against Ebusua Dwarfs which ended abruptly at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The match which took place on May 9, 2021 was called off after the match officials failed to show up in the second half after being threatened by home fans.
Legon Cities had taken the lead in the first half through Richmond Antwi.
However, during the half time break, fans of Dwarfs threatened the lives of the match officials.
In order to preserve their safety, the officials didn’t step onto the pitch for the second half although players from both teams did.
Legon Cities went ahead to protest to the GFA accusing Ebusua Dwarfs of causing the abrupt end of their game.
The decision means Legon Cities move to 13th on 29 points whilst Ebusua Dwarfs drop to 17th on 25 points.
