Salah
SAYING Mohamed Salah had an eventful game for Egypt against Niger is a massive understatement.
The Liverpool star scored twice, created two assists and missed two penalties as Egypt thrashed Niger 6-0 at home in their 2019 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.
Salah saw his first-minute penalty saved but he was soon on hand to help break the deadlock on Saturday, setting up his team-mate Marwan Mohsen for the opener.
Egypt then went 2-0 ahead thanks to Ayman Ashraf before Salah had another spot-kick saved. However, the Liverpool man then poked home the loose ball to spare his blushes.
The 26-year-old then assisted Salah Mohsen prior to heading in Egypt’s fifth himself as Niger tired during the qualifying encounter.
Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny then completed the rout after netting Egypt’s sixth at the Borg El Arab Stadium.
Last season’s Champions League finalist could have ended his day with a hat-trick but Mohsen over-hit a pass directed at Salah, who faced an open goal.
