Mr Gyapong Cudjoe, VR Chairman, NDC
Daniel Kodjo Agboka Dzegede, Volta Regional Treasurer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has reaffirmed the determination of the party to chart a new course to rebrand ahead of the 2020 general election.
“We are ready for a new relationship with the media, we want the media to work with us and we want the cordial relationship back to forge ahead to win power in 2020,” he stated in an interaction with the regional branch of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).
Mr Dzegede conceded that “the party is not happy with its current working relationships with the media and we appeal to them to let go past bad experiences and work with us towards victory in 2020”.
“The NDC will be better than ever after its national election and presidential primary and we’re prepared to engage the media regularly to reposition the party for the 2020 polls,” Mr Dzegede stressed.
Emmanuel Akoto, an administrator at the regional party office, accused the media of contributing to the defeat of the party in the 2016 elections saying, “We have learnt from our past experiences and appeal to the media not to punish us for our past wrongs”.
Bright Kugbeadzor, Regional Deputy Communications Officer of the party, indicated that the party was determined to touch base with the grassroots and media and do the right things and also urged the media for support.
Kafui Kanyi, Regional Chairman, GJA, said the media was ready to work with all political parties and asked that the parties treated journalists as professionals. -GNA
