The Tertiary Students Confederacy (TESCON) of the New Patriotic Party(NPP) in various tertiary institutions throughout the country have been tasked to give off their best in consolidating the gains made by the party over the period.
They have particularly been challenged to lead a united front and work towards building a formidable party to maintain political power in 2020 and beyond, serving as ambassadors of the government by propagating its achievements.
Alhaji Farouk Aliu Mahama, son of late former Vice President, Alhaji Aliu Mahama, who threw the challenge at the handing over ceremony of the University of Ghana TESCON, called for concerted efforts by all to break the eight-year jinx of every government as being the norm.
He urged the newly sworn in TESCON executives to keep the faith and be in touch with the party leadership within their reach and work to increase the membership base of the party.
“I believe if we have a vibrant party structure it will translate into the performance of the government and will improve our electoral fortunes in 2020 and beyond which begins with each and every party member.
“The Akufo-Addo-led administration has made sterling gains in the superior management of the economy, social intervention programmes and policies in all fronts of governance, as a former committed TESCON member in my student days at KNUST, I demonstrated commitment by offering a financial package to support TESCON. –mynewsgh.com
