Franklin Cudjoe, the founder of think-tank, IMANI-Africa, has urged the President to sack 15 ministers in his government.
He explained that although the President had the constitutional right to appoint ministers of a number of his choice, it was not prudent to appoint too many of them.
Mr Cudjoe’s comment comes in the wake of Jose Mourinho, who was sacked by Manchester United, after their worst start to a season in almost 30 years.
The 55-year-old Portuguese’s last match in charge was the 3-1 defeat by Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday which left them 19 points behind their opponents.
Mourinho’s sacking comes just two-and-a-half years into his tenure and three years and a day since Chelsea sacked him just months after he had guided them to the title.
Mr Cudjoe in a Facebook post entreated the President to do same to his ministers who have failed to deliver saying “President Akufo-Addo, see Man U has fired Jose before the end of the year? Fire at least 15 and reduce ministerial numbers from 111 to 80.
He has been a torn in the flesh of the president when he created new ministries and appointed some persons to fill them insisting that the “the president appointed too many ministers to serve in government, which will have negative implications on the public purse he has promised to protect.” –pulse.com.gh
