The Otumfuo Charity Foundation, established by the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II to provide support for needy but brilliant students, has taken delivery of a large quantity of exercise books for distribution to 10,000 school children.
The donation was made by Oheneba Poku Foundation, a corporate social responsibility management structure for Blaze Metal Resources, which has related initiatives across its operations in Ghana, United Arab Emirates, Congo, Uganda, Zambia and Europe.
Mr Fred Kyei Sapong, the Executive Director of Oheneba Poku Foundation, who said this in a statement copied to the Ghana News Agency noted it was a privilege to support the Asantehene’s educational initiatives.
He pledged to stand with the Otumfuo Charity Foundation in every step of the way to achieve its noble objective of providing educational opportunities for brilliant but needy school children.
The Country Manager of Blaze Metal Resources, Mr Yaw Oppong Agyemang, was quoted in the statement as saying his company “is proud to be associated with the efforts of Asantehene” and pledged the company’s support for the seamless celebration of his 20th anniversary.
According to the statement, Ankobiahene Baffuor Kwame Kusi who received the donation on behalf of the Asantehene said the books would be distributed to about 10,000 needy school children.
He expressed gratitude to Oheneba Poku Foundation for the donation and invited individuals, groups and organisations to emulate the gesture. GNA
