Ghana’s Forester Osei yesterday clinched three silver medals at the ongoing 6th Islamic Solidarity Sports Federation (ISSSF) Weightlifting Championship in the Uzbekistan capital of Tashkent.
Yesterday’s result puts Osei in good stead for a possible Olympic Games debut.
The championship, which serves as a Tokyo 2020 Olympic qualifier, has two other Ghanaians – Christian Amoah and David Akwei, on board.
All three weightlifters are expected to run off their campaign today with the hope of garnering enough points ahead of the final round of qualification in Mauritius, in April.
They were accompanied by their coach Nii Darko Dodoo.
In March 2019, Osei glowed to clinch three gold medals at the African Seniors Weightlifting Championship in Libya. The event was a 2020 Olympic qualifier.
The post Osei win three medals in Uzbekistan appeared first on Ghanaian Times.
