Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Director General Bright Oduro has been relieved of his position.
In his stead, his Deputy Maame Yaa Tiwaa Addo-Danquah has been directed to take charge of the Department with immediate effect.
This was contained in a one sentence internal memo signed by the Inspector General of Police (IGP) David Asante-Apeatu.
Official reasons behind the sacking remains unknown. But the Daily Guide newspaper on Monday reported that there were a series of petitions against him in some land-related issues, particularly land guards.
Bright Oduro was set to retire in January 2018 but less than three months to his exit, he has already been shown the door.
He was CID boss for about 10months.
