All is set for the maiden edition of the national conference on protocol issues in Accra next month.
Dubbed Protocol Matters Conference, the forum will bring together experts to discuss how to better equip state and non-state actors on how to ensure effective protocol at occasions.
Protocol refers to the official procedure or system of rules governing affairs of state or diplomatic occasions.
“The conference is to equip event managers, religious leaders, government officials, corporate affairs persons, hospitality industry operators, public relations professionals, international relations executives, and protocol officers with cutting edge skills for the protocol industry,” Daniel Prosper Blagogee, Executive Director of Prosline Events Ghana Limited, organisers of the conference said in a statement.
In collaboration with the Foreign Affairs Ministry and Tourism, Arts and Culture Ministry, the Protocol Matters 2017 Conference will come off on November 8.
The event is under the theme - 'The importance of protocol in national development, image creation and communication'.
The conference will also discuss the importance of protocol in interstate, inter corporate and inter faith relations.
Participants will receive training in the fundamental principles of protocol and how to improve the image and productivity of individuals and institutions through effective protocol. There will also be discussions on protocol as a means of increasing state efficiency.
Among others, Head of the Communications Department at the University of Ghana who is also former High Commissioner to Canada Dr. Margaret Ivy Amoakohene, as well as Rev. Dr. Joyce Aryee of the Salt and Light ministry will be leading the conference.
Tourism Minister Catherine Afeku will also be participating in the event.
