The Ghana Writers’ Conference (GhaWCo) 2019 edition has been scheduled for December 21 at the University of Ghana, Legon.
The event is expected to bring together Ghanaian writers, publishers, literary agents and other stakeholders in the publishing industry.
Under the conference theme, ‘Writing as a social force’, participants will take part in a jam-packed line-up of workshops, panels, and presentations designed to sharpen their writing skills.
The workshops will cover preparing one’s work for publication, keeping readers engaged, narrative tips, prose poems, writing strong dialogue and how to tackle the writing beast.
There will also be a session where international publishers and literary agents will interact and share their expectations with participants.
The Ghana Writers’ Conference is an annual event organised by the Accra International Book Festival (AIBF) and its partners.
This year’s event will feature readings by three award-winning authors from three genres, fiction, creative nonfiction and poetry.
The Ghana Writers’ Conference is dedicated to promoting cultural creativity and diversity through well-thought-out programmes.
It is the only platform which offers formal professional development opportunity for Ghanaian writers, publishers and literary agents.
