TV presenter with The Multimedia Group Ltd. Samson Lardy Anyenini has been nominated for PAV Ansah Communicator Award, organisers of EMY Awards have announced.
The lawyer with a social media following is part of a four man list that also includes TV3 show host Giovani Caleb, entertaining broadcaster Gilbert Abeiku Santana and Asare Kwaku Adjei.
Samson Lardy Anyenini is host of Newsfile on Multi TV, a Saturday morning news analysis show famed for insightful analysis and debate-settling arguments on the week’s most controversial subjects.
It has proven capable of not only setting the news agenda but also ending that week’s social, political and legal controversies.
Samson Lardy has curved a section of the show, Samson’s Take, where he picks any subject of importance and usually brings a praised understanding of the law to the matter.
That section on the show also reproduced on myjoyonline.com has been a feature and an inspiration for other broadcasters to launch their own opinions on matters of public interest.
The PAV Ansah Award is named after Ghanaian freedom fighter and champion for free press, Paul Archibald Vianney Ansah once described as "the uncaged bird in Ghana's politics".
Samson Lardy has been an avid defender of media freedom in Ghana’s court and is seen within the media space as the go-to lawyer on defamation. The lawyer heads a growing law firm, A-partners@law and has won accolades from judges for his love for writing not only for public consumption but also in court when presenting his cases.
The EMY Africa Awards is an annual Father’s Day-related event that celebrates personalities who have contributed their quota to change, progress and continue to be symbols of stability and role models in the community.
