
The Black Stars will do battle against Ethiopia for the first time since 1996 when they meet at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Ghana have faced Ethiopia two times at the senior team 'A' level.
It is one win apiece, so there is nothing separating these two sides.
The first encounter between them happened in 1963. Ghana defeated Ethiopia who at the time were champions of Africa 2-0 in their group A clash in 1963. Edward Acquah scored a brace to inspire Ghana to victory.

Ethiopia would avenge the 1963 defeat in 1996 when they edged the Black Stars 2-0 in a friendly tie.
Ghana and Ethiopia, however, came face to face in the 2014 Africa Nations Championship (CHAN) in South Africa which Ghana won 1-0, but it was a team 'B', so it won't count when doing team 'A' analysis of these two former champions of Africa.
