Asamoah Gyan equals Robin Van Persie's international goal scoring record

Gyan is currently tied in 35th place with the Dutch and Bosnia & Herzegovina's legends respectively on the list of top international association football goal scorers by country.

Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan has equaled Robin Van Persie and Edin Dzeko's record of scoring 50 international goals by netting his country’s first in the 2019 AFCON qualifier versus Ethiopia on Sunday.

Thomas Agyapong's cross from the left found the Al Ahli talisman, who coolly nodded the ball into the net.

Prior to this match, the former Sunderland striker has drawn blank in his previous two games for the Black Stars.
