Flat screen Tvs, smart phones and laptops are the target of armed robbers, the Police Criminal Investigations Department have warned Ghanaians to take caution.
“Crime trend analysis by the Police Criminal Investigation Department (CID) over the past weeks has shown that criminals, especially armed robbers are targeting the following properties belonging to individuals: flat screen television sets, mobile phones especially smart phones and laptops,” a statement posted on Twitter by the Police said.

“Investigations have shown that most of these are sold at very cheap prices to unsuspecting members of the public,” the statement signed by the director of public affairs, Deputy Superintendent of Police Sheilla Kessie Abayie-Buckman said.
The Police urged the public to properly secure such properties to make removal difficult.
It also urged the public to make conscious efforts to inscribe or mark their property in a way that cannot be easily erased.
The police further warned that the public should be cautious of such items that are offered at very cheap rates than the normal market prices.

It also said persons who purchase such stolen goods may be exposed to possible arrest and liable for dishonestly receiving.
