The Ashanti Regional Chapter of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has described as premature and inappropriate calls by bigwigs in the party for the the Minority Chief Whip, Alhaji Mubarak Mohammed Muntaka to resign following parliamentary bribery scandal.

Some party members are calling on the minority chief whip to resign arguing that he has betrayed the party for failing to tell the truth regarding the allegation when he appeared on the ad hoc committee.

In a statement signed by the regional chairman, Yaw Owusu Bimpeh, it urged party members to be circumspect in their public pronouncements on this sensitive subject matter.

‘Also, we humbly encourage members to temporarily shelf or defer their public opinions until the committee’s findings are made public. This is to avoid possible irreparable damage that our less informed positions might cause one of our own,’ it advised.
