Tension is looming at Alabar, a suburb of Kumasi in the Ashanti region as Andani and Abudus royal families fight over lorry station.
The two rival groups engaged in a battle on Thursday morning over the management of the lorry station.
Reporting on the Ultimate Breakfast Show, Isaac Justice Bediako reported that, the Abudus who belong to the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) have been harassing the Andanis who belong to the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) to handover the management of the lorry station to them.
The Abudus claim their party is now in power and that they should be in full control of the station and not the NDC members who have lost power.
The two groups were spotted chanting war songs and holding cutlasses, sticks and stones.
The situation could have turned bloody if the police had not intervened to restore peace in the area.
The Regional Police Commander DCOP Ken Yeboah speaking to Host of Ultimate Breakfast Show Lantam Papanko, said the clash has political undertones but the police are on the right track in restoring peace in the area.
