The Ashanti regional Chairman and Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Bernard Antwi Boasiako and Sam Pyne have maintained their seats following the regional elections held on Saturday April 21, 2018 at Ejura Agriculture college.
The two, Chairman Wontumi and Sam Pyne went unopposed after their contenders Robert Asare Bediako and Kwaku Atta Sarpong stepped down.
Though, forty candidates contested, 38 were confirmed elected to steer the affairs of the party in the region after they were vetted by the elections committee chaired by the national third vice chairman F.F Antoh.
Chairman Wontumi said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is dead in the region with the election of the formidable executives saying they will unseat the NDC Members of Parliament (MPs) for New-Edubiase, Drobonso, Asawase and Ejura constituencies come 2020 elections.
He further assured that the NPP will win 82% of the total presidential votes in the region to secure victory for the party.
