Workers of the Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL) across the country have expressed their disappointment in the Akufo-Addo government failure to pay them their 5 months salaries.
Some of the workers speaking in an interview with Abusua FM’s Osei Kwadwo disclosed that government in March 2018 paid them only 3 months out of 8 months unpaid arrears.
According to the workers, they have since been surviving on bank loans and support from their families for the past 5 months.
“The situation is very disheartening. We are government workers but sometimes it seems the government doesn’t recognize us anymore. Majority of us have being ejected from our homes due to indebtedness. How can we pay our kids schools fees and provide our family needs while we have not being paid for the past 5 months now? It’s not easy for us. Only God knows how we are suffering and sometimes how we manage to get three meals a day” they complained.
Appointment of Board of Directors:
The workers expressed their anger over government failure to constitute their board of directors to manage and run the affairs of the company.
According to them, “We are facing challenges because government has failed to appoint board of directors to manage and run the affairs of the company”.
According to them, all the problems facing Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL) association are easy to solve if they have Board of directors to run the day to day activities of the company.
“We are appealing to government to as matter of urgency appoint Board of Directors for us. We are struggling because we don’t have Board of Directors to fight for us to get our problems solved,” they said.
