Ghanaian midfielder Michael Baidoo produced a masterful creative performance as Umm Salal thrashed Al-Sadd 5–2 away in the Qatar Stars League.
After Giovani’s early opener for the hosts, Baidoo helped flip the game with his incisive passing from midfield. His first assist came on 29 minutes, threading a clever ball for Jean Kouassi to level, before Umm Salal seized full control.
Baidoo then played a key role again as Cristo González struck twice in quick succession, finishing moves that flowed through Umm Salal’s dynamic midfield. Just before the break, Abdalaziz Al Hasia made it 4–1, capping a ruthless first half. After the restart, Salem Al Hajri added a fifth on the hour mark, effectively ending the contest despite Akram Afif’s late penalty for Al-Sadd.
Baidoo, who now has 10 league appearances with 1 goal and 4 assists in the 2025/26 Qatar Stars League, underlined his growing influence as Umm Salal’s creative heartbeat.
