English-Ghanaian striker Kain Adom provided the catalyst for Burton Albion's emphatic five-goal victory over Boreham Wood in the FA Cup Round 3 at Meadow Park.
Adom's brilliant assist in the 35th minute set up Kyran Lofthouse for the opening goal, giving Burton Albion the crucial breakthrough after a cagey opening half-hour.
Playing with precision and intent, Adom created space down the right flank before delivering a perfect cross that found Lofthouse in the box. The right wing-back made no mistake with a clinical finish to put Burton ahead.
Though Adom was forced from the field with injury at the 60-minute mark, his early impact had already shifted the momentum decisively. Burton capitalized ruthlessly, adding an own goal from Charlie O'Connell before dominating the second half. Goals from Tavares, Williams, and McKiernan completed a rout that showcased Burton's attacking prowess and superiority.
Burton Albion's next game will be a League One clash against Huddersfield Town on Saturday, January 17.
