German-born forward of Ghanaian descent, Charles-Jesaja Herrmann, has completed a move to Regionalliga West side FC Bocholt, signing a one-and-a-half-year contract with the German fourth-tier club.
The 25-year-old attacker arrives on a free transfer after terminating his contract with Luxembourgish top-flight side Racing FC Union Luxembourg earlier this January.
In an official statement announcing the signing, the German club said, “1. FC Bocholt have signed German striker Jesaja Herrmann. The 25-year-old forward signed a contract at Bocholt’s Hünting stadium on Friday and is expected to bolster the team’s attack.”
Herrmann, a former VfL Wolfsburg U17 and Hannover 96 youth product, expressed his excitement in his first interview after arriving at Bocholt.
“I made this decision consciously. The discussions with those in charge were convincing. I’m looking forward to the project at 1. FC Bocholt and will do everything I can to achieve the club’s goals,” he said.
Herrmann enjoyed a productive start to the 2025-26 season in Luxembourg, scoring 8 goals and providing 2 assists in 12 appearances.
Despite representing Germany at the youth level, he remains eligible to play internationally for Ghana, following in the footsteps of his father, former Ghanaian international midfielder Charles Kwablan Akonnor.
At Bocholt, he hopes to become a better player to take his career to the next level.
