Heart of Lions head coach Bashir Hayford has accepted his team's 1-0 defeat to Bechem United, describing the away fixture as a tough battle and urging his players to focus immediately on their next challenge.
Speaking after the Week 20 Ghana Premier League clash in Bechem, Hayford acknowledged the quality of the contest. "It was a very tough game because both teams fought from their heart," he said in a post-match interview.
"We fought and fought and fought, but...we will take it like that because that is football. The two teams exhibited good football. Bechem United played at home and collected the three points. We will also go home and prepare for the next match."
The narrow loss extends a difficult period for Heart of Lions, who have managed just one victory in their last ten league matches. Despite the disappointing run of form, Hayford's pragmatic reaction suggests a focus on regrouping rather than dwelling on the setback.
The team now faces a formidable task as they prepare to host league leaders Asante Kotoko at the Kpando Sports Stadium on January 31.
Hayford's call for swift preparation indicates an understanding that his squad must quickly find solutions to reverse their fortunes in a highly competitive league campaign.
