Former West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic is being considered for the Ghana job ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and is understood to have held talks with officials of the Ghana Football Association, according to local reports.
The Croatian is among the leading options to take charge of the Black Stars following the dismissal of Otto Addo.
However, he faces competition from experienced managers, including Carlos Queiroz and Fernando Santos, as the GFA continues its search.
Sources indicate the association is proposing a short-term contract of about four months, a move aimed at reducing risk and maintaining flexibility should results at the World Cup fall short.
The approach is also tied to longer-term plans, with Herve Renard reportedly earmarked for the role after the tournament.
A meeting of the GFA Executive Council on April 10 failed to reach a final decision, with only a few members present while the president joined virtually.
The FA president is currently out of the country, engaging a potential successor, while financial concerns remain, with a reported offer of $50,000 viewed as insufficient to attract a top-level coach.
Ghana face a difficult World Cup group against Panama, Croatia and England, increasing the urgency to appoint the right manager.
