Ghana forward Brandon Thomas-Asante has secured promotion to the Premier League with Coventry City following their goalless draw against Sheffield Wednesday.
Coventry were held to a 0-0 result at the CBS Arena, only the fourth time this season they have failed to score at home. Despite dropping points, results elsewhere worked in their favour, with both Millwall and Middlesbrough also failing to win.
The outcome effectively confirms Coventry’s return to the top flight, with only a highly unlikely combination of results capable of denying them promotion.
Thomas-Asante has played a key role in the club’s successful campaign, contributing 12 goals and four assists in the Championship. His performances have been vital in Coventry’s push for automatic promotion.
Although official confirmation is still pending, Coventry’s points tally and superior goal difference mean they are as good as promoted, marking a significant achievement for the club.
For Thomas-Asante, it represents a major milestone in his career and a boost ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he will be aiming to play a role for Ghana on the biggest stage.
