Mark Aboagye, the young footballer who burst onto the scene as the best player and top scorer in Zone 2 of the Milo U-13 Champions League in 2019, has taken a significant step forward in his career by earning a call-up to Ghana's U-17 national team, the Black Starlets.
Now a few years older, the talented attacker has progressed through the ranks and is part of the squad preparing for the 2026 U-17 Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
His inclusion is a testament to his development since those early days when he first caught the attention of scouts and coaches with his eye-catching performances.
Back in 2019, Aboagye was popularly known as "C-Ro" â a nickname derived from his admiration for Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.
His current focus is firmly on the task at hand: helping the Black Starlets make an impact at the continental tournament.
Ghana will face Algeria, Senegal, and South Africa in Group D, with their opening match scheduled for May 14. For Aboagye, the journey from Milo prodigy to national team call-up is a story of steady progress â and it may only be the beginning.
